Titans Suffer Rare Loss To Blue Devils

UW-Oshkosh had its 16-match unbeaten streak against the UW-Stout women's soccer team snapped with a 1-0 loss to the Blue Devils on Saturday (Oct. 22) in Menomonie.

The game's only goal was scored by Emily Stanke in the 19th minute (18:56) of play. Stanke's seventh goal of the season came after she rebounded a corner kick launched by teammate Courtney Tideman.

UW-Oshkosh (10-6/4-3 WIAC), which went 12-0-4 in its previous 16 contests against UW-Stout, was held to five shots and four corner kicks. Jessica Erny (Sr. • Wauwatosa) had three shots and Jennifer Nesbitt (Sr. • Sturgeon Bay) and Kelsey Spaith (Sr. • Madison) one each for the Titans.

UW-Stout (11-1-1/5-1 WIAC) totaled 10 shots and nine corner kicks after marking seven of each category in the first half. The Blue Devils were led by the five shots of Grace Salwasser. Stanke scored on her only shot of the match.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Brittany Walder (Sr. • Waukesha) saved four shots, including three in the first half. UW-Stout goalkeeper Robbie Shelby earned the shutout victory after stopping two shots.

UW-Oshkosh welcomes Concordia University Wisconsin to J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Tuesday (Oct. 25).
