Nagan Collects Academic All-America Honors

UW-Oshkosh's Steffanie Nagan has been named to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-America College Division Women's Soccer Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The team is made up of NCAA Division II and III schools, along with NAIA schools and Nagan was one of 10 individuals named to the second team.

Nagan is majoring in broadfield natural science and boasts a 4.00 grade point average. She is one of four individuals on the second team to own a 4.00 grade point average.

Nagan is the first person in program history to claim CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades and the first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection since the 2007 campaign.

The six-time UW-Oshkosh Dean's List member is an active participant in the Wisconsin Education Association, UW-Oshkosh Honors Program and the National Audubon Society.

Nagan started all 18 matches that she played in this season. Her performance in the defensive backfield helped the Titans register six shutouts and a 1.47 goals against average. UW-Oshkosh won six of its last eight matches to end the season with a 9-8-1 record.

Nagan played in 70 matches, including 27 as a starter, during her four-year UW-Oshkosh career. Nagan's lone goal came during the Titans' 8-0 victory over Lawrence University in 2007.
