Titans Shut Down Raiders

Second-half goals by Carmen Fiordellisi (So. • Howard) and Becca Blue (Fr. • Kimberly) lifted the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Tuesday (Oct. 6) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

UW-Oshkosh (5-4-2) broke a scoreless contest when Fiordellisi sailed a shot off a pass from Jessica Erny (So. • Wauwatosa) into the goal at the 54:46 mark of the match. The goal was Fiordellisi's team-leading seventh of the season.

UW-Oshkosh held its 1-0 lead until Blue scored with 49 seconds left in the match. Blue's second goal of the season was assisted by Sam Monahan (Fr. • Pewaukee).

UW-Oshkosh, which registered its fourth shutout of the season, posted a 22-8 advantage in shots. Blue, Erny, Fiordellisi and Caitlin Casey (Jr. • Waukesha) led the Titans with three shots each.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (6-5-2), a first-time opponent of UW-Oshkosh, was paced by the four shots of Heidi Brehmer and two of Jamie Janczak.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Brittany Walder (So. • Waukesha) saved four shots, while Milwaukee School of Engineering goalkeeper Emma Lumpe saved 11. The Raiders also counted two team saves.

UW-Oshkosh is the host for Concordia University Wisconsin on Thursday (Oct. 8).
