Titans Swat Yellowjackets

Caitlin Casey (Jr. • Waukesha) registered her first career hat trick to lead the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over UW-Superior on Saturday (Oct. 10) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Casey doubled her goal total for the season by scoring three times in the second half, including an unassisted 35-yard kick that entered the net as time expired. She also scored an unassisted goal at the 57:40 mark of the match and an assisted goal by Becca Blue (Fr. • Kimberly) at the 81:52 mark of the contest.

UW-Oshkosh (7-4-2/3-1-1 WIAC) opened the scoring on a goal by Carmen Fiordellisi (So. • Howard) at the 13:35 mark of the game. Fiordellisi's team-leading eighth goal of the season was assisted by Anna Guilfoil (So. • Madison).

UW-Oshkosh's fourth goal of the match was scored by Guilfoil, who recorded an unassisted goal at the 81:17 mark of the contest. It was the first collegiate goal for Guilfoil.

UW-Oshkosh had advantages of 30-1 in shots and 6-0 in corner kicks. The Titans were led by the seven shots of Casey, six of both Fiordellisi and Lindsey Collette (Fr. • Green Bay) and four of Guilfoil. Sarah Johnson attempted UW-Superior's lone shot.

The Yellowjackets (1-12/0-6 WIAC) have lost their last 103 WIAC contests and their last 17 matches to UW-Oshkosh.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Brittany Walder (So. • Waukesha) went without a blocked shot as she counted her fourth shutout of the season. UW-Superior goalkeeper Felicia Bibeau saved 10 shots.

UW-Oshkosh concludes its four-match home stand against UW-Whitewater on Wednesday (Oct. 14).
