Three Titans Receive All-WIAC Honors

The UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team had three players earn postseason recognition from the WIAC.

Selected to the 22-member all-league team were the Titans' Caitlin Casey (Jr. • Waukesha), Carmen Fiordellisi (So. • Howard) and Nikki Reed (So. • Muskego).

It was the second All-WIAC award for Casey and the first for both Fiordellisi and Reed. Casey was an all-league selection in 2007.

Casey, a midfielder, started all 19 matches for the Titans and totaled 15 points on six goals and three assists. She tallied three goals in UW-Oshkosh's 5-0 win over UW-Superior on Oct. 10 and two goals and one assist in the Titans' 6-2 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin on Oct. 8.

In 2008, Casey started 10 of the 14 matches that she played in and registered nine points on four goals and one assist. In 2007, Casey started 17 of the 18 contests that she played in and accumulated eight points on three goals and two assists.

Fiordellisi, a forward, started all 19 contests for UW-Oshkosh and compiled 17 points on a team-leading eight goals and one assist. She ranked second in the WIAC with five match-winning goals.

In 2008, Fiordellisi started 10 of the 18 games that she played in and totaled 11 points on a team-best five goals and one assist.

Reed, a defender, started all 19 games for the Titans and recorded four points on one goal and two assists. Her lone goal, a match winner, came in UW-Oshkosh's 2-1 victory over UW-Stout on Oct. 3. Defensively, Reed helped UW-Oshkosh shutout five opponents and register a 1.53 goals against average.

In 2008, Reed started all 19 contests that she played in and tallied one assist.

League champion UW-Stevens Point had five players receive All-WIAC honors, while UW-Whitewater had four. Emily Gerber of UW-Whitewater was named the conference's Player of the Year.

UW-Stevens Point's Sheila Miech was named WIAC Coach of the Year, while UW-Superior's Elizabeth LeQue received the league's Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award.

UW-Oshkosh's Brittany Walder (So. • Waukesha) was one of nine selections to the WIAC's All-Sportsmanship Team.

UW-Oshkosh finished the 2009 season with a 9-8-2 record. The Titans tied for fourth place in the WIAC standings with a 4-3-1 record.
