Titans Down Vikings In Double Overtime

Becca Blue (Fr. • Kimberly) tallied the match-winning goal in the second overtime period to lift the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Lawrence University on Wednesday (Oct. 28) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Blue supplied her first game-winner of the season when she knocked Kelsey Spaith's (So. • Madison) corner kick into the goal at the 103:50 mark of the contest. Blue's fifth goal of the season ended a scoring drought of nearly 392 minutes for the Titans.

The teams played a scoreless regulation despite a 9-3 advantage in shots for Lawrence University (10-6) in the first half and a 9-2 advantage in shots for UW-Oshkosh (9-7-2) in the second.

UW-Oshkosh failed to score in the first overtime after attempting all five shots and both corner kicks of the period. UW-Oshkosh attempted all three shots and the lone corner kick of the second overtime.

The Titans were led by the four shots of both Jessica Erny (So. • Wauwatosa) and Anna Guilfoil (So. • Madison) and the three of both Blue and Lindsey Collette (Fr. • Green Bay). Blue and Collette both had shots deflect off the crossbar in regulation.
