Culver Secures Match Win For Titans

PLATTEVILLE, WIS.- The UW-Oshkosh men's wrestling team was defeated by UW-Platteville on Thursday (Jan. 18) with a final team score of 45-3.

The Titans 0-6 (0-5 WIAC) collected one win tonight while dropping the remainder of the matches to the Pioneers 1-1 (1-0 WIAC).

JP Culver (Fr. • Vicksburg, Mich.) supplied the Titans their only win of the night in the 125-pound duel. He defeated Jack Sullivan by a 9-6 decision.

In the 141-pound contest, Alec Schmacht pinned Andrew Schad (So. • Kiel). Ira Schlottke (Fr. • Grafton) was defeated by fall to Carter Kruckeberg in the 149-pount tilt, Joey Spizzirri lost by a 13-4 major decision to Blake Desman in the 165-pound bout, Michael Loger was defeated by Marty Koenig with a 12-1 major decision in the 184-pound duel, Alex Ashauer overcame Matt Hanke in the 197-pound clash with a 13-1 major decision, and Camden Harms was brought down by a 11-7 decision against Colton Grindle in the 285-pound match. 

The 133-, 157-, 174-pound matches all ended in Oshkosh forfeits.

The Titans will return on the road against Lakeland University Thursday (Jan. 25). The match scheduled for a 6 p.m. start time.
