Lemcke Selected To All-America Second Team

UW-Oshkosh junior wrestler Jordan Lemcke has received NCAA Division III All-America Second Team honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Lemcke, who collected his first All-America award, was one of six Second Team selections from the 285-pound weight class. He became UW-Oshkosh's 12th Division III All-American and the fourth since the 2014 season.

Joining Lemcke as a 285-pound member of this year's All-America Second Team were Cole Fibranz from the University of Chicago (Ill.), Richard Knapp from The College at Brockport (N.Y.), Nico Ramirez from Southern Virginia University, Sam Weinger from Rochester Institute of Technology (N.Y.) and Wyatt Wriedt from Loras College (Iowa).

Selections to the Division III All-America Team usually consist of the top eight finishers in each of the 10 weight classes at the NCAA Championship. However, due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of the NCAA Championship, this year's All-America selections were based on each wrestler's body of work through regional competition. The NCAA Championship was scheduled for March 13-14 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A total of 180 wrestlers acquired All-America mention from the NWCA this season, including 80 First Team selections. The organization named 50 wrestlers to each of its Second and Third teams.

Lemcke compiled a 22-7 record (five pins) during the 2019-20 season. He qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship by winning the 285-pound title at the Upper Midwest Regional held Feb. 28-29 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Lemcke won all four of his regional matches, including a 3-1 tie-breaking decision over UW-Eau Claire's Noah Carter in the championship match. Lemcke previously defeated Carter for third place at the WIAC Championship held Feb. 14 in Eau Claire.

Lemcke advanced to the regional final with a 15-0 (7:00) victory over Roberto Pena of Elmhurst College (Ill.), a 3-1 triumph over Dylan Uzumecki of UW-Whitewater and a pin of UW-Platteville's Lucius Rinehart in 5:22. Rinehart finished first and Uzumecki second at this year's WIAC Championship.

Lemcke also tallied season records of 25-14 (10 pins) in 2019 and 5-14 (1 pin) in 2018. He owns a career record of 52-35 (16 pins).
