Titans Defeated By Blugolds

UW-Oshkosh received victories from Mark Choinski, Colten Cashmore and Anthony Senthavisouk during its 36-9 wrestling loss to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Nov. 18) in Eau Claire.

Choinski, who finished sixth at last year's NCAA Division III Championship, gave UW-Oshkosh (0-2, 0-2 WIAC) an early 3-0 lead with his 6-3 win over Hunter DeLeon at 157 pounds.

Following a pair of UW-Eau Claire victories, UW-Oshkosh cut its deficit to 10-6 when Cashmore edged Cecil Philson, 7-6, at 184 pounds.

Trailing 24-6, UW-Oshkosh scored its final three points on Senthavisouk's 13-7 decision over Casey Hedrington at 133 pounds.

UW-Eau Claire (1-1, 1-1 WIAC) earned 18 points with a pair of pins and Abe Dickenson's forfeit victory at 125 pounds. The Blugolds recorded their pins during the contest's final two matches as Jordan Meyer stuck UW-Oshkosh's Wesam Alabed to the mat in 2:03 at 141 pounds and Carter Focht glued the Titans' Corey Knudsen to the surface in 3:47 at 149.

UW-Eau Claire took a 10-3 lead over UW-Oshkosh on wins by Seth Vosters and Tyler Vogt at 165 and 174 pounds, respectively. Vosters defeated UW-Oshkosh's Nate Arquinego, 22-5, while Vogt ousted the Titans' Husam Alabed, 19-2.

The Blugolds went ahead of the Titans by an 18-4 following victories by Ramsey Bloy at 197 pounds and Tyler Burt at 285. Both wrestlers won eight-point decisions, Bloy by an 11-3 result over Jordan Lemcke and Burt by a 12-4 score over Michael Dunlap.

UW-Oshkosh will host UW-Stevens Point on Monday (Nov. 20) in Kolf Sports Center.
