Titans Double-Up Raiders

UW-Oshkosh won six straight bouts to overcome an early six-point deficit and defeat Milwaukee School of Engineering, 32-15, in a wrestling match held Tuesday (Jan. 31) in Milwaukee.

The Titans trailed the Raiders, 12-6, before receiving 12 free points on forfeits to Ethan Altabet at 125 pounds and Jonathan Flores at 133.

UW-Oshkosh (3-12) earned its next four victories on the mat, including Kody Azarian's 16-0 win over Jimmy Cushman at 141 pounds, to take a 32-12 lead.

The Titans' run of victories ended with Joe Pelkey's 15-10 win over Jack Rathburn at 149 pounds, Mark Choinski's 8-2 triumph over Sam Rathburn at 157 and Aristide Serrano's 14-8 decision over Garret Gross at 165.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (1-5) then ended the match with Devon McCune's 11-6 win over AJ Stengel at 174 pounds.

Julius Smith gave UW-Oshkosh a quick 6-0 lead with his pin of Josh Lang in 6:39 at 184 pounds.

Milwaukee School of Engineering answered back with 12 points of its own on consecutive pins by Devin Mahnke at 197 pounds and Austin Belille at 285. Mahnke stuck John DePersia to the mat in 2:30 while Belille glued Michael Dunlap to the surface in 1:13.

UW-Oshkosh will compete at UW-Eau Claire's Don Parker Open on Saturday (Feb. 4).
