Titans' String Of Victories Lead To Rout Of Raiders

Victories in eight consecutive bouts, including two by a pin and another pair by a forfeit, helped the UW-Oshkosh wrestling team defeat the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 38-6, on Thursday (Feb. 4) in Kolf Sports Center.

Following a double forfeit at 125 pounds, Dellas Vandenberg opened UW-Oshkosh's string of victories with a 10-6 decision over Bryce Fitzgerald at 133 pounds.

The Titans' Austin Loos then received a forfeit at 141 pounds before Hunter Mulock stuck Tre House to the mat in 2:22 during their 149-pound contest. The pin was Mulock's first of the season.

UW-Oshkosh (5-10) increased its lead over the Raiders to 26-0 on victories by Joe Pelkey at 157 pounds, Lance Arendt at 165 and Julius Smith at 174.

Pelkey defeated Sam Rathburn by an 11-6 score, while Arendt overwhelmed Ryan Snyder by a 15-0 count. Smith then edged Russell Carey by a 6-4 result.

After Parker Knueppel received a forfeit at 184 pounds, UW-Oshkosh concluded its scoring with John DePersia's pin of Brett Raymond at 197. DePersia recorded his fourth pin of the year by attaching Raymond to the surface in 4:57.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (1-6) tallied its six team points in the final bout, a pin by Austin Bellile in 4:36 over the Titans' Elijah Burdick at 285 pounds.

UW-Oshkosh will compete at UW-Eau Claire's Don Parker Open on Saturday (Feb. 6).
