Five Titans Earn All-America at NCGA Championship

WINONA, Minn.- Five UW-Oshkosh gymnasts were named All-America on Saturday afternoon for their part in Oshkosh's National Collegiate Gymnasts Association (NCGA) Championship title win.

The Titans won the meet with 192.525 points, topping second place UW-La Crosse by 0.200 points. UW-Stout took third with 190.275, Springfield College (Mass.) took fourth with 190.100, the State University of New York Brockport took fifth with 189.225 and Ithaca College took sixth with 187.925.

Oshkosh has now won the last two NCGA Championships and competed in the last three. They have qualified for the last three meets by winning the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional in each of the last three years.

Freshman Reanna McGibboney earned a team-leading two All-America nods, placing third on the floor exercise with a score of 9.800 and placing fifth on the vault with a score of 9.750.

Sophomore Mia Lucero finished with a 9.700 on the vault. Freshman Lydia Hayden finished the balance beam with a third place, 9.775 point score. Lucero and Hayden only competed on their All-America events.

Senior Trinity Sawyer placed seventh on the uneven bars, scoring 9.625 points. She also competed on the floor exercise, scoring 9.700 points and placing 15th. She now owns three All-America honors.

Junior Emily Buffington finished the all-around with 37.650 for fourth place. She scored a 9.375 on the vault, a 9.350 on the uneven bars, a 9.200 on the balance beam and a 9.700 on the floor exercise. She has now earned two All-America medals.
