Seven Titans Receive Gymnastics All-America In Academics Award

A Division III-leading seven seniors from the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics squad were named to the 2022 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association All-America In Academics Team.

Gymnasts recognized from UW-Oshkosh for their outstanding academic success were Emily Gilot, Kaira Hammond, Rahdea Jarvis, Olivia Keller, Haley Minor, Rachel Morris and Alyssa Nore.

A total of 54 gymnasts from the NCGA were honored for owning a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.00. Each nominee must qualify as a senior student academically and be in her last year of athletic eligibility.

Gilot, a rehabilitation science major with a 3.78 cumulative grade-point-average, is a three-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll member.

Gilot finished second on the vault with a score of 9.775 at this year's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship held March 5 to earn all-league recognition. She also placed eighth on the uneven bars with a season-best score of 9.65. Gilot recorded a season-best score of 9.80 on the vault against Hamline University (Minn.) on Feb. 3.

Gilot won the vault at the 2020 WIAC Championship and earned NCGA All-America honors in the floor exercise in 2019 and on the vault in both 2019 and 2020. 

Hammond, who owns a 3.96 cumulative GPA as a kinesiology major, is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.

Hammond placed fifth on the balance beam with a score of 9.60 at the 2022 WIAC Championship to collect all-league status. She earned a season-best score of 9.65 on the apparatus against Winona State University (Minn.) on Feb. 10.

Hammond secured NCGA All-America honors on the uneven bars in 2019. 

Jarvis possesses a 3.68 cumulative GPA as a business major. She has been mentioned on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll three times.

Jarvis ranked second on the uneven bars with a season-best score of 9.775 at this year's WIAC Championship to harvest all-league mention. She also finished 12th in the floor exercise with a score of 9.60. Jarvis earned season-best grades of 9.75 in the floor exercise and 9.625 on the vault against Hamline University while achieving a season-best score of 9.625 on the vault during a quadrangular hosted by Eastern Michigan University on Jan. 28.

Jarvis earned NCGA All-America recognition on the vault in 2019.

Keller has been mentioned on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll three times. She holds a 3.47 cumulative GPA as a kinesiology major. 

Keller finished seventh in the floor exercise with a score of 9.675 and 19th on the balance beam with a result of 9.425 at this year's WIAC Championship. She recorded season-best scores of 9.75 in the floor exercise at a triangular hosted by Hamline University on Jan. 14 and 9.70 on the balance beam against Winona State University.

Minor, a three-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member, owns a 3.56 cumulative GPA as a nursing major.

Morris is the holder of a 3.15 cumulative GPA. The nursing major has been listed on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll twice. Morris was UW-Oshkosh's representative on the 2022 WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Nore has a 3.98 cumulative GPA. The three-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll award winner is majoring in biology/healthcare science. She earned a season-best score of 9.60 in the floor exercise against UW-La Crosse on Feb. 18.

UW-Oshkosh, which has gone unbeaten against its Division III opponents this season, compiled a school-record score of 192.300 to win its second straight WIAC title. The Titans will compete at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championship on March 26 in Ithaca, N.Y.
