Six Titans Named To All-West Regional Championship Team

Six members of the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team have received All-West Regional Championship honors from the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association.

UW-Oshkosh selections to the 2020 all-regional team were senior Baylee Tkaczuk; sophomores Emily Gilot, Kaira Hammond, Rahdea Jarvis and Olivia Keller; and freshman Trinity Sawyer.

Three Titans earned all-regional accolades in multiple events – Gilot and Sawyer on both the uneven bars and vault and Jarvis in the floor exercise and on the vault. Hammond achieved all-regional mention on the balance beam, Keller in the floor exercise and Tkaczuk on the uneven bars.

This year's All-West Regional Championship Team featured 40 award winners. Event decorations were presented to the top five finishers at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship/NCGA West Regional held March 7 in Eau Claire and the top five season average scorers entering the regional.

Gilot competed in all nine of UW-Oshkosh's meets this season and ranked second in the West Region and second nationally on the vault with her average score of 9.7438. She recorded a career-best figure of 9.775 on the vault during competitions at the Texas Woman's University Quadrangular on Jan. 26 and against Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Feb. 29.

On the uneven bars, Gilot ranked eighth in the West Region and 15th nationally with her average score of 9.5188. She recorded a season-best count of 9.700 on the uneven bars at the Texas Woman's University Quadrangular.

At the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional, Gilot was UW-Oshkosh's lone event champion. She achieved a winning score of 9.75 on the vault while placing eighth on the uneven bars with a figure of 9.475.

Sawyer participated in all but one of UW-Oshkosh's meets this season and ranked fourth in the West Region and seventh nationally on the vault with her average score of 9.650. She recorded a season-best count of 9.775 on the vault while attending the Harley-Davidson Invitational on Feb. 7.

Sawyer ranked 12th in the West Region and 25th nationally on the uneven bars with her average score of 9.4563. She recorded a season-best mark of 9.625 on the uneven bars at the Texas Woman's University Quadrangular.

Sawyer performed at the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional and finished seventh in the floor exercise with a score of 9.55.

Jarvis competed in every UW-Oshkosh meet this season and ranked seventh in the West Region and 11th nationally on the vault with her average score of 9.5813. She recorded a career-best figure of 9.675 on the vault against Gustavus Adolphus College.

In the floor exercise, Jarvis ranked 12th in the West Region and 26th nationally with her average score of 9.5938.

At the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional, Jarvis finished second in the floor exercise and fourth on the vault with scores of 9.675 and 9.60, respectively. Her score in the floor exercise was a season best.

Hammond performed in every UW-Oshkosh meet this season and ranked 13th in the West Region and 20th nationally on the balance beam with her average score of 9.6063. She recorded a career-best mark of 9.675 on the balance beam at the Harley-Davidson Invitational.

Hammond finished third on the balance beam with a score of 9.625 at the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional.

A participant in every UW-Oshkosh meet this season, Keller ranked seventh in the West Region and 17th nationally in the floor exercise with her average score of 9.6250. She recorded a career-best count of 9.650 in the floor exercise against Hamline University (Minn.) on Feb. 15.

Hammond recorded a 15th-place score of 9.45 in the floor exercise at the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional.

Tkaczuk participated in each UW-Oshkosh meet this season and ranked second in the West Region and fifth nationally on the uneven bars with her average score of 9.6625. She recorded a season-best mark of 9.75 on the uneven bars at the Texas Woman's University Quadrangular.

At this year's WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional, Tkaczuk finished second on the uneven bars with a score of 9.675.

UW-Oshkosh compiled an 8-1 record against its seven WIAC/NCGA West Region rivals during the regular season and defeated all of its challengers at the 2020 league/regional championship with its winning score of 189.675.

The Titans' earned a berth into the six-team NCGA Championship, but that meet scheduled for March 27 in Ithaca, N.Y., was canceled due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

Last year's inaugural NCGA All-West Regional Championship Team featured eight UW-Oshkosh selections – Hammond, Keller and Tkaczuk on the balance beam; Jessica Bernardo and Bailey Finin in the floor exercise; Hammond and Jarvis on the uneven bars; and Gilot on the vault.
