Titans Finish Second At Gershon/McLellan Invitational

Krystal Walker won the all-around competition and ranked in the top eight of all four events during UW-Oshkosh's second-place finish at the Gershon/McLellan Women's Gymnastics Invitational held Friday (Jan. 31) in La Crosse.

Host UW-La Crosse captured its fifth straight Gershon/McLellan Invitational title with 185.925 points, while UW-Oshkosh finished second with 180.40. Winona State University (Minn.) placed third in the three-team meet with 179.40 points.

The Titans reached their overall score with 45.925 points on the vault, 45.875 on the uneven bars, 45.20 on the balance beam and 43.40 in the floor exercise.

Walker compiled 37.35 points in winning the all-around competition. Jade Donaldson of Winona State University finished second with a score of 36.95.

Walker also placed second on the balance beam with 9.60 points, fourth on the vault with 9.35, sixth in the floor exercise with 9.175 and eighth on the uneven bars with 9.225. Walker shared her listing on the uneven bars with teammate Elizabeth Kiel.

UW-Oshkosh owned the top mention on the uneven bars as Leane Blais posted a winning score of 9.475 points. UW-La Crosse's Rachel Riesterer and Elsa Spitzmueller shared second place with scores of 9.45.

The Titans also had Kylie Fischer finish fourth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.35, Kimberly Robertson seventh on the vault with a mark of 9.275 and Kiel eighth on the balance beam with a figure of 9.25.

UW-La Crosse swept the remaining event titles as Ali Berry won the floor exercise (9.625), Kendall Westrich the balance beam (9.625) and Kari Willett the vault (9.50).

UW-Oshkosh competes in a dual meet at Winona State University on Thursday (Feb. 6).
