Titans Outscore Pipers, Blue Devils To Win Triangular

UW-Oshkosh exceeded 46 points in two of the four events as it won a women's gymnastics triangular with Hamline University (Minn.) and UW-Stout on Saturday (Jan. 11) in Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans captured the team title with 182.625 points, including a meet-best 46.55 in the floor exercise and 46.15 on the uneven bars. UW-Oshkosh also counted 45.225 points on the vault and 44.70 on the balance beam.

Hamline University finished second in the team competition with 180.025 points and UW-Stout third with 176.025.

UW-Oshkosh's Krystal Walker took the all-around title with 37.10 points. She also finished third on the uneven bars with a score of 9.45 and fourth on both the vault and in the floor exercise with marks of 9.525 and 9.30, respectively. Walker placed eighth on the balance beam with an amount of 8.825.

The Titans owned the winner in two other events as Emily Ryan scored 9.60 points in the floor exercise and Leane Blais and Steffani Meusburger 9.675 on the uneven bars. Blais and teammate Tabitha Dorshorst shared fifth place on the balance beam with a figure of 8.975.

UW-Oshkosh had a pair of second-place efforts as Kylie Fischer calculated 9.55 points in the floor exercise and Elizabeth Kiel 9.15 on the balance beam.

Kimberly Robertson finished sixth on the vault with a score of 9.125.

Other event winners were Kambria Blakely of Hamline University and Kaylee Jondahl of UW-Stout. Blakely won the balance beam with a score of 9.30 and Jondahl the vault with a mark of 9.425.

UW-Oshkosh travels to St. Charles, Mo., for a meet on Friday (Jan. 17) with host Lindenwood University (Mo.), Seattle Pacific University (Wash.) and UW-La Crosse.
