Titans Finish Second, Hofer Fifth At Marian Spring Invite

FOND DU LAC, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team turned in its best performance of the season in its last meet of the year on Sunday (April 20) in the Marian University Spring Invitational at Whispering Springs Golf Course in Fond du Lac.

The Titans placed second with 369 total strokes (81-over par). Marian University won the team trophy with 357 total strokes (69-over par) and Concordia University Wisconsin's Elizabeth Montaba claimed the individual title with an 83 (11-over par).

Josie Hofer (Jr. • Menominee, Mich.) shot a 91 (19-over par) for fifth place to lead Oshkosh.

Alyssa Dreher (Sr. • Campbellsport) and Hailey Matenaer (So • West Bend) both finished Sunday's round with 92 strokes (20-over par) which secured them a tie for sixth place while Sydney Bornhorst (Jr. • Grayslake, Ill.) took eighth with 94 strokes (22-over par).

Oshkosh's remaining three finishers were Kylie Herrin (So. • Orland Park, Ill.) with 98 strokes (26-over par) for 13th, Marin Bell (Fr. • Oshkosh) with 100 strokes (28-over par) for 15th and Sophia Steel (So. • Hoffman Estates, Ill.) with a 101 (29-over par) for 16th.
