Titans Take Second at Match Play Event
BERLIN, Wis.—Despite the weather shortening today's competition to just nine holes, the UW-Oshkosh Titans golf team took second at the Titan Match Play event.
The Titans fell to UW-La Crosse in the team competition. Ava Downie was the lone Titan to win, winning 3 & 2 over UW-La Crosse's Andrea Schleeper. UW-La Crosse's Erin Rosenbratnz defeated Alyssa Dreher (wins 1 UP) and Allison Balduzzi wins 1 UP over Lauryn Davis. Taryn Endres and Josie Hofer fell to Sophie Denure and Grace Ellison, falling 2 & 1.
In individual competition, Gwyn Golembiewski and Sophia Steel won their matches. Golembiewski won 3 & 1 over Isa Zuniga-Meyer of UW-La Crosse as Steel won 4 & 3 over Marian's Sarah Lach. Oshkosh's Kylie Herrin tied with Claire Kelbel in individual action.
The Titans will continue spring action at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invite on April 21 and 22.
