Priebe Takes 25th Place At Division III Classic

UW-Oshkosh's Erika Priebe shaved one stroke off her first-round score to move up 10 positions and finish in a tie for 25th place at the Division III Women's Golf Classic held Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 18-19) at the Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minn.

Priebe totaled 161 strokes (17-over-par) during the 36-hole tournament to share her finish with Elizabeth Fagerlind of Augsburg University (Minn.), Alisha Ford of Wartburg College (Iowa), Bergen Senf of St. Olaf College (Minn.) and Tenley Smith of Macalester College (Minn.). Priebe used 19 pars to tally 18-hole scores of 81 on Saturday and 80 on Sunday.

Ana Schwarz of Bethel University (Minn.) and Brynn Sundquist of Bethel University (B) tied for the individual title with 147 strokes (3-over-par) apiece.

Kristin Miyagi of Carleton College (Minn.) finished third among the tournament's 116 golfers with 150 strokes while Emily Kratz of Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) placed fourth with 152 and both Kiwa Anisman of Macalester College and Abbey Filipiak of UW-Stout fifth with 153.

UW-Oshkosh also had Josie Hofer finish 66th with 169 strokes, Megan Footit 74th with 171, Margherite Pettenuzzo 76th with 172, Ava Downie 79th with 173 and Lauryn Davis 82nd with 174. Footit counted 80 strokes on Sunday to reduce her score from the previous day by 11 strokes.

UW-Oshkosh finished 15th among the 20 competing teams with 670 strokes (94-over-par). The Titans totaled 332 strokes on Sunday after recording 338 on Saturday.

Bethel University claimed the team championship with 625 strokes (49-over-par). Bethel University (B) placed second with 629 strokes while Carleton College, Gustavus Adolphus College and St. Catherine University (Minn.) all shared third place with 633.

UW-Oshkosh returns to action next weekend at the St. Kate's Fall Invitational in Stillwater, Minn. Competition will be played Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 25-26) at the Oak Glen Golf Course.
