Titans Finish Third At UW-La Crosse Invitational

Results

The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team placed third at the UW-La Crosse Invitational held Saturday (Sept. 11) at The Golf Club of Cedar Creek in Onalaska.

UW-Oshkosh finished the 18-hole tournament with a 344 team strokes (60-over-par). Augustana College (Ill.) won the 10-team event with 327 strokes (43-over-par) while UW-La Crosse placed second with 329 and Viterbo University fourth with 346.

Completing the team listings were fifth-place Augustana College (B) with 354 strokes, sixth-place UW-Platteville with 360, seventh-place UW-La Crosse (B) with 370, eighth-place Viterbo University (B) with 387, ninth-place UW-Stevens Point with 388 and 10th-place St. Norbert College with 390.

UW-Oshkosh had two golfers finish among the top 10 places – Megan Footit who ranked ninth with 83 strokes (12-over-par) and Erika Priebe who graded 10th with 84 (13-over-par).

Other UW-Oshkosh results had Margherite Pettenuzzo finish 15th with 86 strokes, both Lauryn Davis and Ava Downie 22nd with 91, Josie Hofer 46th with 100 and Gwyn Golembiewski 52nd with 108.

Markie Ash of UW-Platteville and Avery Frick of Augustana College tied for the individual title with 79 strokes (8-over-par) apiece.

The tournament also had Madison Zloto place third with 80 strokes and both Molly Larson of UW-La Crosse and Rylie Schurter of Augustana College fourth with 81.

A total of 58 golfers completed their round.

UW-Oshkosh remains in Onalaska to compete at Sunday's (Sept. 12) Viterbo University Invitational.
