Priebe Receives Third CoSIDA All-District Academic Award

UW-Oshkosh senior golfer Kayla Priebe has been named to Google Cloud Academic All-District® 6 NCAA Division III Women's At-Large Team for the third straight year.

The 11-member squad, selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.

The Academic All-District® 6 At-Large Team was comprised of student-athletes from institutions in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Student-athletes were selected from the sports of beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

Priebe was one of two WIAC student-athletes selected to the 2019 Academic All-District® 6 At-Large Team. The other honoree was UW-Stevens Point swimmer Taylor Pehrson.

Priebe, a graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average as an accounting major. The four-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member was named to the UW-Oshkosh Dean's List during all eight semesters of her attendance and received several academic scholarships.

Priebe is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants and UW-Oshkosh's Accounting Club. She has volunteered with Special Olympics Polar Plunge, Together We Rise, Feeding America and Polk Library. Priebe was a member of UW-Oshkosh's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2015-16 and represented the university at Viessmann Sustainability Seminar in Allendorf, Germany, in May 2018.

Priebe, who received NCAA Division III All-Central Region honors by the Women's Golf Coaches Association earlier this month, averaged 78.6 strokes while playing 16 18-hole rounds during the 2018-19 season. She scored 80 strokes or better 14 times, including a season-best 74 on the first day of the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic held Sept. 1 at the Oshkosh Country Club.

Last fall, Priebe finished sixth with 236 strokes at the 54-hole WIAC Championship held Oct. 5-7 in Reedsburg. She also placed second at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic, UW-Whitewater Invitational and UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational.

Priebe previously took second place at the WIAC Championship in 2015 and third in both 2016 and 2017. She received all-conference first team recognition in 2015, 2016 and 2018 and second team accolades in 2018. Priebe was named the WIAC's Player of the Year in 2016.
