Priebe Collects Second All-Region Golf Award

Priebe Collects Second All-Region Golf Award

UW-Oshkosh senior Kayla Priebe has received NCAA Division III All-Central Region honors by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) for the second time in three seasons.

Priebe, the second two-time all-region selection in the 23-year history of the UW-Oshkosh women's golf program, also earned all-region mention following the Titans' 2016-17 season.

Priebe was chosen to this year's 10-member All-Central Region Team based on her statistical performance during the 2018-19 season. Priebe and UW-Whitewater's CheyAnn Knudsen were the only golfers from the WIAC collecting all-region awards.

Priebe averaged 78.6 strokes while playing 16 18-hole rounds during the 2018-19 season. She scored 80 strokes or better 14 times, including a season-best 74 on the first day of the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic held Sept. 1 at the Oshkosh Country Club.

Last fall, Priebe finished sixth with 236 strokes at the 54-hole WIAC Championship held Oct. 5-7 in Reedsburg. She also placed second at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic, UW-Whitewater Invitational and UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational.

Priebe previously took second place at the WIAC Championship in 2015 and third in both 2016 and 2017. She received all-conference first team recognition in 2015, 2016 and 2018 and second team accolades in 2018. Priebe was named the WIAC's Player of the Year in 2016.

Joining Priebe and Knudsen on the 2019 WGCA All-Central Region Team were Julia Dai, Chloe DiPetrillo and Lydia Tsai from Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.); Nina Kouchi, Vidushi Sinha and Vrishali Sinha from Grinnell College (Iowa); Sarah Lyman from Carthage College; and Maggie Warrner from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Grinnell College's David Arseneault was named the region's Coach of the Year.
