Titans Place Fifth At UW-Whitewater Spring Fling

UW-Oshkosh tallied 350 strokes to finish fifth out of 13 women's golf teams at the UW-Whitewater Spring Fling held Saturday (April 21) at the Beloit Club in Beloit.

Illinois Wesleyan University won the 18-hole event with 315 strokes (27-over-par) while Cardinal Stritch University and Illinois Wesleyan University (B) tied for second place with 324. UW-Whitewater finished fourth with 327 strokes and Carthage College sixth with 353.

UW-Oshkosh owned five of the tournament's 73 golfers, including Hanna Rebholz who finished 19th with 84 strokes (12-over-par).

The Titans also had Dianna Scheibe place 25th with 86 strokes, Micayla Richards 28th with 87, Keara Richards 34th with 93 and Sophia Mazurek 49th with 98.

Hannah Strading of Cardinal Stritch University captured the individual title with 75 strokes (3-over-par).

Four of the next five finishers behind Strading belonged to Illinois Wesleyan University as Jordan Koehler placed second with 76 strokes, Melanie Wolf third with 77, Jackie Garcia fifth with 79 and Olivia Ruff sixth with 80. Garcia was a member of Illinois Wesleyan University's "B" team.

UW-Whitewater's Kelly Storti finished fourth with 78 strokes.

UW-Oshkosh closes its 2017-18 season next weekend at Augustana College's Viking Invitational. Competition will be held Saturday and Sunday (April 28-29) at the Highland Springs Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.
