Priebe Awarded All-Region Recognition

UW-Oshkosh sophomore Kayla Priebe, who was named the WIAC's Player of the Year last fall, has received all-region honors by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Priebe was selected to the 10-member NCAA Division III All-Central Region Team based on her performance during the 2016-17 season. Priebe and UW-Stout's Rachel Hernandez were the only WIAC golfers collecting all-region recognition.

Priebe becomes the second UW-Oshkosh golfer to receive all-region accolades, following McKenzie Paul who acquired the distinction for the Titans a year ago.

Last fall, Priebe earned All-WIAC First Team honors for the second consecutive year after being the only league player to average less than 80 strokes per round. Her 18-hole average of 78.5 strokes led the WIAC by nearly two strokes.

Priebe, who concluded the 2016-17 season by averaging 79.3 strokes, scored 80 or better during 12 of her 15 rounds. She captured first place at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic, second at the Mad Dawg Invitational and third at both the WIAC Championship and the UW-Whitewater Invitational.

Joining Priebe and Hernandez on the WGCA All-Central Region Team were Chloe DiPetrillo, Erin Drolet, Angelica Harris and Samantha Haubenstock from Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.); CheyAnn Knudsen from Carthage College; Jordan Koehler from Illinois Wesleyan University; and Vidushi Sinha and Vrishali Sinha from Grinnell College (Iowa).

Ellen Port of Washington University in St. Louis was named the region's Coach of the Year.

Winners of the PING WGCA Division III Player of the Year, WGCA Division III Freshman of the Year, and Division III Golf Pride WGCA National Coach of the Year awards will be announced following the NCAA Championship later this month.
