Titans Set for Midweek Game at Warhawks

OSHKOSH, Wis.—Hitting the road for a midweek contest, the (RV) UW-Oshkosh Titans women's basketball squad is set to face the No. 17 UW-Whitewater Warhawks squad on January 11. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Kachel Gymnasium on the Whitewater campus.

The Titans (10-4, 1-3 WIAC) saw the Warhawks (12-4, 3-1 WIAC) twice in the postseason a year ago.

The Titans and Warhawks have several individuals in the top-10 in scoring and rebounding in the league. Kayce Vaile sits at No. 8 in the conference in scoring and is second in the league in rebounding. The Warhawks' Kacie Carollo and Aleah Grundahl sit inside the top-10 in scoring while Carollo sits at No. 6 in rebounding.  

Outlook on Oshkosh

The Titans have won three of their last four games, including a conference win over UW-River Falls. Against River Falls, the Titans jumped out to a 17-2 run in the first quarter and held off a late comeback attempt by the Falcons of River Falls.

Leading the Titans, Vaile averages 11.7 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. Jenna Jorgensen is the second Titan to average in double-digit scoring, landing at 10.1 points per game. 

The Titans are averaging 62.7 points per game and 32.8 rebounds per game. The Titans have been shooting 42.3% from the field and grabbing 10 assists per game. Defensively, the Titans are holding their opponents to 55.7 points per game.

Watching Whitewater

The Warhawks are averaging 68.1 points per game, nearly ten more points than their opponents. The Warhawks are shooting 42.5% from the field and 19.3 turnovers per game. The Warhawks lead the league in turnovers and are second in the league for assists at 13.2 per game.

Carollo leads the offensive efforts for the Warhawks with 15.6 points per game. Grundahl adds 13 points per game while Maggie Trautsch is the final Warhawk in double-digit scoring at 10.7 points per game. Leading the rebounding efforts, Carollo sits at 7.1 rebounds per game.
