Titans to Host Eagles in Home Opener

OSHKOSH, Wis.—The long-awaited return is over for No. 22/18 UW-Oshkosh Titans women's basketball as the Titans host the Edgewood College Eagles in the home season opener. The Titans and Eagles are set to tip-off at 7 p.m. in Kolf Sports Center.

Previewing Edgewood

The Eagles dropped their season opener to the Knights of Wartburg College on Nov. 8, 68-101. The Knights, who've received votes in the D3hoops.com preseason Top-25, built their lead from beyond the arc, with 19 3-pointers in the contest.

Last season, the Eagles made a run in the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC), falling in the semifinals to the tournament champion Wisconsin Lutheran. Chaia Huff is entering her seventh season at the helm of the Eagles program, in which she has guided the Eagles to 49 wins over the previous three seasons.

The Eagles were picked to finish in third in the preseason NACC poll, trailing Wisconsin Lutheran (No. 1) and St. Norbert (No. 2).

Opening Weekend Recap  

Kayce Vaile recorded a career-night for the Titans, recording 24 points in the Titans win over Wartburg on Nov. 12, 71-58. Allison Forney and Jenna Jorgensen each recorded double-digit performances for the Titans. 

Forney recorded a career best in the Titans season opener against Lakeland, scoring 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

Against Bethel, Jorgensen nearly matched her career best with 17 points, while Vaile recorded her second career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ava Douglas recorded a career-night with Kate Huml joining her fellow Titans in double-figure scoring.

National Notes

Entering the 2022-23 season with a top-25 ranking, the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's basketball squad lands at No. 22 in the preseason poll from D3hoops.com.

The Titans are ranked No. 18 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
