Rabas Returns To Women's Basketball Program As Assistant Coach

Former Titan Jessie Rabas will be returning to the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball sidelines as an assistant coach during the 2022-23 season.

Rabas, a 2019 UW-Oshkosh graduate, was an assistant coach for the St. Norbert College women's basketball program last season after spending two years as a girls basketball assistant coach at her alma mater, De Pere High School.

Rabas joins former Titan Madeline Staples as an assistant coach under 11th-year head coach Brad Fischer. Matt Kelliher will also return for his third season as an assistant on the Titan bench.

"I can't thank Coach Fischer enough for giving me the opportunity to be back with him and the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball program," Rabas said. "I am so excited to return to the program and the culture that gave me so much as a player. I am looking forward to getting back on campus and working with the student-athletes."

Rabas helped St. Norbert College to a 19-8 record during the 2021-22 season and a runner-up finish in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference since helping De Pere High School to a regional title in 2021.

"We are truly thrilled to welcome Jessie back to our sidelines," Fischer said. "As a player she exhibited an incredible passion and enthusiasm for the game. I know she believes in the same things we do at the core of our program. She lives the culture, values relationships and demonstrates the self-discipline we pride ourselves on. I know she will be another tremendous role model for our women."

Rabas, who played three seasons at NCAA Division II Quincy University (Ill.) before transferring to UW-Oshkosh, was named to the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honorable Mention Team as a senior guard for the Titans in 2019. Rabas paced UW-Oshkosh with 36 3-pointers and 29 blocks as the Titans won the 2019 WIAC Tournament en route to advancing to the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship and finishing the season with a 26-4 record.

UW-Oshkosh produced a 22-7 record in 2021-22, concluding the season ranked 12th in the country by D3hoops.com after reaching the quarterfinals of the Division III Championship. The Titans have won at least 20 games during each of Fischer's nine full seasons at the helm and advanced past the first round in seven of the last eight Division III tournaments.
