Porath, Arneson Awarded All-Region Accolades

Seniors Leah Porath and Nikki Arneson both represented the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball program on the 2022 D3hoops.com NCAA Division III All-Region 9 Team.

Porath made school history by being voted to the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 First Team at guard for the third consecutive season while Arneson, a Third Team selection at forward, garnered All-Region recognition for the first time.

Porath became the first Titan to earn All-Region First Team honors on three occasions. Only one player in program history – Taylor Schmidt – had previously collected three all-region awards from any organization, receiving D3hoops.com Second Team laurels in 2015 and 2016 before being selected to the First Team in 2017.

Arneson is the 10th Titan to be named to the D3hoops.com All-Region Team since the online organization began its awards program in 2002. Porath, the most decorated player in UW-Oshkosh history, was also a consensus All-American in 2020 and 2021.

Porath and Arneson were both selected to the 2022 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team after leading the Titans to the league tournament semifinals. UW-Oshkosh earned an at-large berth into the Division III Championship and knocked off three nationally ranked opponents en route to reaching the quarterfinals for the first time since 1999. The Titans defeated 18th-ranked Wisconsin Lutheran College in the first round, fourth-ranked Simpson College (Iowa) during the regional title game and 10th-ranked Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) in the third round before falling at 12th-ranked UW-Whitewater in the Elite Eight. UW-Oshkosh ended the season with a 22-7 record.

Geistfeld was named Region 9 Player of the Year while UW-Whitewater's Keri Carollo and Hayden Glander from Bethel University (Minn.) received Region 9 Coach of the Year and Region 9 Rookie of the Year accolades, respectively.

Rounding out the six-member All-Region 9 Third Team were UW-La Crosse guard Emma Gamoke along with forwards Jasmine Choi from Carleton College (Minn.), Cameron Kincaid from Simpson College, Sami Martin from Loras College (Iowa) and Jaedon Murphy from Wartburg College (Iowa).
