Stevens Receives Academic All-District Honors

UW-Oshkosh senior designated player Grace Stevens was one of 14 student-athletes chosen to the 2022 College Sports Information Directors of America NCAA Division III Academic All-District® 6 Softball Team.

The Academic All-District® 6 Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The squad, selected by CoSIDA members, was comprised of student-athletes from schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. First-, Second- and Third-Team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

Stevens, a first-time Academic All-District® selection, graduated in May 2021 with a 3.68 cumulative grade-point average as a kinesiology major. She is currently enrolled in UW-Oshkosh's Master of Science in Athletic Training program.

Stevens has volunteered with Special Olympics Wisconsin while serving as a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society and UW-Oshkosh's Kinesiology Club and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The 2018 Fremd High School (Palatine, Ill.) graduate was represented on the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll three times and the UW-Oshkosh Dean's List twice.

Stevens played in 36 games (32 as a starter) for the Titans this spring and hit .308 with one home run, eight doubles, 21 runs batted in and 11 runs scored. She also recorded a season-best eight-game hitting streak while counting five multiple-hit games and five contests with multiple runs batted in.

Stevens appeared in 75 games (62 as a starter) during her four seasons at UW-Oshkosh. Her career totals included a .268 batting average with two home runs, 12 doubles, 27 runs batted in and 25 runs scored.

Other WIAC student-athletes voted to the 2022 NCAA Division III Academic All-District® 6 Softball Team were UW-Platteville catcher Kelsey Bollon, UW-Whitewater pitcher Kate Cleveland, UW-Stout designated player Shannon Jones and UW-River Falls catcher Grace Peterson.

UW-Oshkosh concluded the 2022 season with a 26-10 record and a second-place finish in the WIAC standings. The Titans won at least 20 games for the WIAC record-tying 18th consecutive year.

In 2021, UW-Oshkosh compiled a 29-13 record while earning a pair of WIAC titles and a fifth-place finish at the Division III Championship. The Titans shared the WIAC's regular season title with UW-Whitewater before posting a 4-0 win over the Warhawks in the third and deciding contest of the league's postseason tournament. UW-Oshkosh won two of its three games at the Division III Championship in Salem, Va., after going unbeaten in four regional contests.
