Ritter Named WIAC Softball Athlete Of The Week
The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference chose UW-Oshkosh junior first baseman Hannah Ritter as its Kwik Trip Softball Athlete of the Week for games played April 25-May 1.
Ritter was named the conference's top position player for the week while UW-La Crosse's Elise Weinzierl was selected as the league's best pitcher.
Ritter compiled a .667 (8-12) batting average with one home run, four runs batted in and seven runs scored as UW-Oshkosh recorded a pair of wins over both UW-Stevens Point and UW-Platteville.
Ritter, who had multiple hits in three of UW-Oshkosh's four games, concluded the week with percentages of .917 for slugging and .733 for on-base. Ritter handled all 25 of her fielding opportunities without an error.
Ritter hit safely in all four at-bats during UW-Oshkosh's home doubleheader sweep of UW-Stevens Point on April 27. She went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs batted in and two runs scored during the Titans' 6-5 victory in the nightcap after hitting a single and walking three times in UW-Oshkosh's 3-2 win in the opener.
Ritter also helped UW-Oshkosh register a pair of road wins over UW-Platteville on May 1 by going 2-for-4 in each contest. She contributed two runs batted in and two runs scored during UW-Oshkosh's 11-0 five-inning victory in the opener and three runs scored in the Titans' 13-2 six-inning triumph in the nightcap.
