Menting Named WIAC Softball Player Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh catcher Abby Menting was chosen as the WIAC Softball Position Player of the Week for games played April 25 - May 1.

Menting hit a team-leading .500 (11-22) with two doubles, one triple, two home runs and 10 runs batted in as UW-Oshkosh compiled a 4-4 record in doubleheaders against Marian University, UW-Platteville, UW-Eau Claire and University of St. Thomas.

Menting, who also scored six runs, hit safely in seven of the eight contests while marking percentages of .955 for slugging and .593 for on-base. 

Menting went 4-for-6 with two home runs and six runs batted in as UW-Oshkosh swept a doubleheader from Marian University on April 26. She had two hits, including a solo home run, in a 5-0 win and two hits, including a grand slam, during an 11-1 victory (5 innings).

Menting also went 4-for-4 with one run batted in during a doubleheader against UW-Eau Claire. Menting had two hits in each contest, UW-Oshkosh defeats of 2-1 and 6-3 to the Blugolds.

The WIAC selected UW-Eau Claire's Lauren Blasczk as its Pitcher of the Week.
