Koepsel Collects WIAC Position Player Of The Week Award

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has named UW-Oshkosh catcher/designated player Katie Koepsel (Fr. • Oak Creek) as its Women's Softball Position Player of the Week. The award was for games played April 23-29.

Koepsel hit .667 (12-18) with four home runs, two doubles and nine runs batted in as UW-Oshkosh played doubleheaders against UW-Platteville, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Superior.

Koepsel compiled a 1.556 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .714 while hitting safely in all six contests. She also hit one triple and scored eight runs. Koepsel handled all 24 of her fielding opportunities during the week without an error.

In UW-Oshkosh's split of a doubleheader with UW-Platteville on April 25, Koepsel went 4-for-5 at the plate with two home runs and five runs batted in. She had three hits and four runs batted in during the Titans' 9-8 win in the opener. Koepsel's solo home run in the ninth inning provided the margin of victory.

During a pair of losses to league-leading UW-Eau Claire on April 28, Koepsel went 3-for-5 at the plate with two home runs and three runs batted in. She hit a two-run home run in the opener and a solo home run in the nightcap.

In UW-Oshkosh's split of a doubleheader with UW-Superior on April 29, Koepsel went 5-for-8 at the plate with one run batted in. She had four hits, including a double and a triple, in the Titans' 7-5 victory in the opener.

Emma Wishau of UW-Eau Claire was selected as the WIAC Pitcher of the Week.
