Titans Finish Third at Warhawk Open

WHITEWATER, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh men's cross country took third place with 79 points at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Open on Friday (Oct. 20).

Jason Skinkis (Fr. • Seymour) led Titan runners in the 8,000-meter race in eighth, running the course in 27:53.

Owen Bostwick (So. • Whitefish Bay) placed 11th in 28:11, Nate Gindt (Fr. • North Fond du Lac) finished in 28:32 for 19th, Brady Lewis (Fr. • Cedarburg) took 20th in 28:45, Evan Peterson (Fr. • Gillett) followed in 21st in 28:48, Zach Nelson (Jr. • Mount Horeb) finished in 24th with 29:29, and Zach Dietsch (Fr. • West St, Paul, Minn.) placing 27th in 29:51.

Xavier Lasee of UW-Platteville won the individual title, running the 8,000-meter course in 26:57. Jonah Block (26:59) and Keegan Bratt (27:01), both of UW-Whitewater, followed in second and third. 

In the team competition, UW-Whitewater won the title with 20 points and UW-Platteville followed behind with 53 points.

Other Titans Alex Bernhardt (Fr. • Appleton) and Zach Osmanski (So. • Carpentersville, Ill.) finished in 37th and 38th place with times of 30:54 and 30:58.

The Titans will head to Prescott High School in River Falls for the WIAC Championship on Saturday (Oct. 28). The men's race is scheduled for noon, followed by the women's race at 1 p.m.
