Paul Proteau led UW-Oshkosh with a 56th place, 25:34 finish

Titans Take 12th At Augustana College Interregional

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- The UW-Oshkosh men's cross-country team placed 12th in the 43-team Augustana College Interregional on Saturday (Oct. 14) with 387 points.

Paul Proteau (So. • Riverside, Ill.) paced Titan runners in the 8,000 meter race finishing 56th in 25:34.

Additional Titans that contributed team points were Jake Krause (Jr. • Hortonville) in 57th in 25:36, Cameron Cullen (So. • Kewaunee) 59th in 25:37, Joe Kehoe (Sr. • Sun Prairie) 99th in 25:55, and Jason Ford (Sr. • Verona) 138th in 26:14.

Christian Patzka of UW-Whitewater took home the individual title at 24:19, James Settles of Colorado College took second at 24:20, and Gunner Schlender, also of UW-Whitewater, took third at 24:28.

North Central College (Ill.) won the team title with 60 points. UW-Whitewater followed with 90 points and Wartburg College (Iowa) grabbed third with 97 points.

Alex Peterson (Fr. • Gillett) placed 163rd in 26:22, Joe Freng (So. • Sun Prairie) placed 178th with 26:29, Dwight Hosni (Jr. • Cedarburg) placed 257th in 27:01, Lucas Nicholson (Fr. • Pewaukee) 264th in 27:04, and Trent Chadwick (So. • Poynette) placed 268th in 27:06 for UW-Oshkosh.

Titans are set to return to action at the UW-Whitewater Open on Friday (Oct. 20). The men's race begins at 4 p.m. followed by the women's race at 4:45 p.m.
