Titans Place Fourth At Gene Davis Invitational

APPLETON, Wis.- Nine of the 11 UW-Oshkosh men's cross-country runners broke their season-best times in the Lawrence Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 7).

Lucas Nicholson (Fr. • Pewaukee) placed 18th in 26:19, Evan Peterson (Fr. • Gillett) 30th in 26:58, Jason Skinkis (Fr. • Seymour) 31st in 27:02, Zach Nelson (Jr. • Mount Horeb) 42nd in 27:14, Brady Lewis (Fr. • Cedarburg) 75th in 27:19, Nate Gindt (Fr. • North Fond du Lac) 26th in 27:26, Owen Bostwick (So. • Whitefish Bay) 51st in 27:41, Alex Bernhardt (Fr. • Appleton) 75th in 28:40, and Zach Osmanski (So. • Carpentersville, Ill.) 83rd in 28:59.

Also running for UW-Oshkosh, Zach Dietsch (Fr. • West St. Paul, Minn.) took 59th in 28:07 while Owen Siebert (Fr. • Kimberly) placed 102nd in 30:09.

Sam Forstner from Ripon College won the individual title running the 8,000-meter course in 24:54. Henry Karelitz (25:00) from the Wisconsin Track Club and Austin Sanderfoot (25:16) from Carroll University placed second and third.

UW-Oshkosh placed fourth out of the six teams, with 95 total points. The average pace was 26:58 among the twelve runners.

Ripon College took home the team title with 37 points, with Wisconsin Lutheran College following behind with 57 points, and Lawrence University in third with 72 points.

The Titans will return to action on Friday (Oct. 14) for the Augustana College Interregional Invite. The men's race will begin at 11:45 a.m., followed by the women's race that begins at 12:30 p.m.
