Proteau Paces Field With First Place Finish At UW-Platteville Gender Equity Invitational

CUBA CITY, Wis.- Paul Proteau finished the UW-Platteville Gender Equity Invitational with a time of 25:14 that earned him the individual title and a personal best finish. The UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team also won the team title with 38 points at the Cole Acres Golf Course in Cuba City on Saturday (Sept. 23).

Three more Titans placed in the top ten. Joe Kehoe finished second overall for the second consecutive meet with a time of 25:28.1. Cameron Cullen took third with a time of 25:44 and Jason Ford took 10th in 26:19.4.

Jake Krause was the Titans' final point contributor. He ran a 26:54.1 for 22nd place.

Alex Peterson was the sixth-fastest Titan runner, placing 24th (27:01.9) and Dwight Hosni was the seven-fastest, placing 31st (27:17.4).

The Titans earned 38 points for the team title. Hosts UW-Platteville finished second in the meet with 49 points and Ripon College took third with 85 points.

The Titans will return to the course on Friday (Sept. 29) for the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational. The meet will be held at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax. The men will start at 4:15 p.m. and the women will start at 5:15 p.m.
