Kehoe Leads Titans to Second Place Finish in Multidivisional UW-Green Bay Phoenix Open

Five top-20 finishes secured the Titans a second-place finish in the UW-Green Bay Phoenix Open on Friday (Sept. 8) held at the Phoenix Alumni Cross Country Course in Green Bay. 

Earning 58 points as a team, the Titans were beaten only by the Division II Michigan Technological University who totaled 40 points. The Titans beat both Division I schools competing. UW-Milwaukee earned 61 points and UW-Green Bay earned 83. Rounding out the rest of the collegiate competition was Division II Winona State University (Minn.) and Division III St. Norbert College. 

A second place and career best time of 25:06.1 for Joe Kehoe in the 8000-meter race led the Titans. Kehoe was the only runner from Division III to crack the top-10. Tucker Ringhand of Michigan Tech was the only runner faster, with a time of 25:06.1. 

The next fastest times were Paul Proteau (25:35.2) and Eli Traeder (25:39.5) with 11th and 12th place finishes respectively. Adding points for the Titans were Cameron Cullen's time of 25:48.1 for 17th place and Jake Krause's time of 26:11.8 for 20th. 

Joe Freng (26:38.8) and Jason Ford (26:41.2) rounded out the top-7 Titan runners with 32nd and 33rd places respectively. 

The Titans return to action in the UW-Platteville Gender Equity Invitational at Cole Acres Golf Course in Cuba City.
