Titans Place Third Among Four Visitors

UW-Oshkosh's Bennett Krueger finished fifth and Corbin Bevry eighth during a five-team men's cross country meet the Titans hosted on Friday (Oct. 20) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

Krueger concluded the 8,000-meter race with a time of 27:47 while Bevry finished in 28:11. The Titans also had Henry Laste place 13th in 28:27, Collin Borazo 15th in 28:27 and Jack Rindahl 19th in 28:46.

UW-Platteville owned two of the meet's top four runners, including Kyle Herbrand, who captured the individual crown with a time of 27:05. The Pioneers' Benjamin Nemec took fourth place in 27:42.

UW-Stevens Point's Tyler Tanko finished second among the meet's 63 runners with a time of 27:24 while former UW-Oshkosh cross country member Ryne Scopp ran unattached and placed third in 27:29.

UW-Stevens Point claimed the team title with 38 points. The Pointers were followed by second-place UW-Platteville with 41 points, third-place UW-Oshkosh with 55, fourth-place UW-Whitewater with 92 and fifth-place Maranatha Baptist University with 150.

UW-Oshkosh had seven other competitors in the meet, including Andrew George, who finished 21st with a time of 29:00; Mitch Pauers, who placed 31st in 29:50; Austin Baker, who ranked 33rd in 30:02; and Bob Szymanski, who listed 36th in 30:11.

UW-Oshkosh rested the majority of its runners in preparation for next Saturday's (Oct. 28) WIAC Championship in Whitewater. The Titans are a 16-time WIAC champion, with the last title coming in 2015.
