Titans Finish Third Among Their Four Guests

UW-Oshkosh's Bennett Krueger and Nathan Nozzi finished among the top 19 runners during a men's cross country meet the Titans hosted on Friday (Oct. 21) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

Krueger completed the 8,000-meter race with a 17th-place time of 27:44 while Nozzi finished 19th in 27:47 and UW-Oshkosh teammate Nick Engels 23rd in 28:09.

Dennis Haak and Ryne Scopp both ran unattached and claimed the top two individual positions. Haak won the race of 64 participants with a time of 26:11 while Scopp, a former UW-Oshkosh runner, placed second in 26:13.

UW-Platteville owned two of the next three runners to cross the finish line as TJ Pitcock ranked third in 26:47 and Adam Caruso fifth in 26:54. UW-Stevens Point's Max Zeitler finished fourth with a time of 26:49.

UW-Oshkosh had three other competitors place in the top 30 as Corbin Bevry finished 28th in 28:17, Trevor Faldet 29th in 28:19 and Adian Welsch 30th in 28:21.

The Titans also received a 32nd-place time of 28:24 from Henry Laste, a 34th-place value of 28:36 from Collin Borazo and a 46th-place rate of 29:43 from Isaiah Sample.

UW-Stevens Point edged UW-Platteville, 26-29, for the team title. UW-Oshkosh finished third in the five-team meet with 84 points while UW-Whitewater listed fourth with 117 and Maranatha Baptist University fifth with 149.

UW-Oshkosh rested the majority of its runners in preparation of next Saturday's (Oct. 29) WIAC Championship in Stevens Point.
