Carpenter Receives WIAC Runner Of The Week Award

UW-Oshkosh's Jordan Carpenter has been selected as the WIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets held Sept. 22-28.

Carpenter ran to the individual title as UW-Oshkosh finished second at the Roy Griak Invitational held Sept. 27 in Falcon Heights, Minn.

Carpenter completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25:56 to pace the field of 235 competitors. He defeated runner-up Alex Ciesielski of UW-La Crosse by 10 seconds (26:06). Jonah Weisse of UW-La Crosse finished third with a time of 26:31.

UW-La Crosse won the meet that featured 17 teams with 43 points, while UW-Oshkosh finished a close second with 46. The rest of the top five squads included third-place Wartburg College (Iowa) with 82 points, fourth-place Saint John's University (Minn.) with 124 and fifth-place Hamline University (Minn.) with 127.
