Clarke Leads Titans At UW-Oshkosh Open

Jacob Clarke (27:25) and Jacob Hansen (27:37) ran to top-six finishes as the UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team took third place at the UW-Oshkosh Open on Friday (Oct. 25) at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

Clarke and Hansen finished fifth and sixth, respectively, as the Titans scored 55 points at the event.

Jordan Black finished in 12th place with a time of 27:56. Alex Balister (28:24) and Derrick Rufer (28:25) finished back to back at 19th and 20th.

Also finishing for the Titans was Seth Schumacher in 24th (28:50), Matthew Lawrence in 28th (29:20) and Patrick McCorkle in 30th (31:53).

Finishing ahead of UW-Oshkosh was UW-Stevens Point with a score of 24 and UW-Platteville, scoring a 49.

In the individual race, UW-Stevens Point's Evan Cooper (26:16) took first place, followed by teammate Cody Riesterer (27:12), UW-Platteville's Matt Kocak (27:19) and UW-Stevens Point's Joey Kinscher (27:23).

The WIAC Championship will be held in River Falls on Nov. 2.
