Titans Apprehend Raiders

UW-Oshkosh swept all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles contests in straight sets as it defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering, 8-1, in a men's tennis match held Saturday (April 16) at the Kolf Sports Center outdoor courts.

UW-Oshkosh (6-8) improves its home record to 5-1, while Milwaukee School of Engineering (5-12) falls to 1-7 on the road.

The Titans' No. 1 doubles team of Vincent Gorski and Ryan Kuzmanovic eked out an 8-6 decision over the Raiders' John Price and Tom Smith.

UW-Oshkosh completed its sweep of the double matches by scores of 8-1 in the second flight and 8-3 in the third flight.

The Titan tandem of Adam Hawley and Adam Martin downed Kyle Fassbender and Mason Sauder at No. 2 doubles, while UW-Oshkosh's Jordan Andersen and Logan Zastrow defeated Austin Fite and Ryan Runke by an 8-3 score at No. 3 doubles.

Price notched Milwaukee School of Engineering's lone match victory by outlasting Gorski, 6-2, 5-7 (10-7) in the first flight of singles competition.

UW-Oshkosh secured the victory by dropping just 11 total games in the final five singles flights.

Kuzmanovic breezed past Smith, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Martin dispatched Fassbender 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.

Hawley at No. 4 singles and Zastrow at No. 5 both cruised to 6-0, 6-1 wins over Runke and Tyler Haanen, respectively, while Austin Laumb closed out the match with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over Fite in the sixth flight of singles.

UW-Oshkosh remains at home to face UW-Whitewater on Friday (April 22) at the Kolf Sports Center outdoor courts.
