Titans Enjoy A Successful Home Debut

UW-Oshkosh celebrated its home opener with a 6-3 win over the Carroll University men's tennis team on Saturday (Feb. 27) at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center.

Adam Hawley and Adam Martin combined for three UW-Oshkosh victories, including their 8-2 decision over Joshua Ramos and Noah Stemper at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Hawley recorded a 7-5, 6-4 win over Blake Youngberg in the third flight, while Martin marked a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Ramos in the fourth.

UW-Oshkosh (2-5) also received individual victories from Ryan Kuzmanovic in the second flight and Logan Zastrow in the fifth. Kuzmanovic defeated Quentin Lamers, 7-5, 4-6 (10-6), while Zastrow ousted Stemper, 4-6, 6-4 (12-10).

Carroll University (1-4) took the No. 1 singles contest as Jaeger defeated Vincent Gorski, 6-2, 6-0. The Pioneers' Andrew Nemcek captured the No. 6 singles flight with his 2-6, 7-6 (9-7), (10-5) result over Jordan Andersen.

In addition to the win at No. 2 doubles, the Titans were also victorious at No. 3 doubles. That flight featured David Leffler and William O'Connell defeating Nemcek and Ian Foster, 8-3.

Jaeger and Lamers gave Carroll University a win at No. 1 doubles with their 8-1 decision over Gorski and Kuzmanovic.

UW-Oshkosh hosts Lawrence University next Saturday (March 5) at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center.
