Titans Beat Duhawks With 10 Event Wins

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team hosted Loras College (Iowa) at Albee Hall on Saturday (Jan. 27), winning 10 events on its way to a 162-131 victory.

The 200-yard medley relay squad made up of CJ Willert (So. • Eau Claire), Damen Seremet (So. • Beaver Dam), Leo Ramirez-Gutierrez (Fr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) and Drew Davis (Jr. • Bakersfield, Calif.) won the event with a time of 1:41.85. Alex Ward (Fr. • Yorkville, Ill.), Chase Millam (Sr. • Stoughton), Julian Koller (Fr. • Hartland) and Caleb Valdivia (Fr. • McAllen, Texas) followed at 1:44.18 for third.

Luke Giles (Fr. • Oswego, Ill.) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:58.81 and was joined in third by Ethan DeGroot (So. • Brooklyn Center, Minn.) at 11:53.12.

Chase Millam earned an individual event win in the 200-yard freestyle by racing a 1:50.37. Ben Knoeck (Jr. • Cottage Grove) placed third in 1:51.97.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Willert finished in 59.07 seconds for second place.

Seremet and Ward grabbed the top two spots in the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:00.82 and 1:03.76, respectively.

Koller earned the top spot in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:07.85 finish.

Ward placed second and Davis, third in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.11 and 23.47 seconds.

Glen Cole (Fr. • Milwaukee) scored 182.10 points on the 1-meter diving, securing a second-place finish.

Seremet and Ward once again finished in the top-three, this time in the 100-yard freestyle. Seremet took second in 50.10 seconds, while Ward raced a 51.16 for third.

Willert won the 200-yard backstroke, swimming the event in 2:11.03.

Giles led the Titans with a second-place, 2:23.49 finish in the 200-yard breaststroke. Cade Millam (Jr. • Stoughton) followed in third at 2:35.02.

Chase Millam won his third overall event by swimming the 500-yard freestyle in 5:07.20. Law Lykins joined him in the top-three by finishing with a time of 5:17.24.

Ramirez-Gutierrez and Koller collected additional top-three finishes with 55.70- and 58.33-second times in the 100-yard butterfly for second and third place, respectively.

Cole won the 3-meter diving with a score of 189.60 points.

In the final individual event of the day, Giles won the 200-yard IM in 2:05.75 while Willert followed in second at 2:13.36.

Seremet, Chase Millam, Knoeck and Ramirez-Gutierrez won the 200-yard freestyle relay and Lykins, Giles, Cade Millam and Koller placed third with 1:30.29 and 1:34.37 finishes.

The Titans will send divers to the University of Illinois Diving Invitational on Feb. 3 before the four-day WIAC Championship begins in Brown Deer on Feb. 14.
