Titans Collect Two First-Place Finishes In Gene Davis Invitational

APPLETON, Wis.- Damen Seremet (So. • Beaver Dam) and the 200-yard freestyle medley relay team led the UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team to a third-place finish in the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday (Nov. 11).

Seremet paced the 100-yard breaststroke by more than a second, collecting first with a time of 1:02.09. The 200-yard freestyle medley relay squad also won their event in 1:32.19.

UW-Oshkosh also grabbed five second-place times. Dylan Edelstein (Fr. • Manhattan, Ill.) dove to second in both diving events with scores of 276.60 in the 1-meter and 148.95 in the 3-meter. The remaining three went to the 200-yard medley relay team (1:40.90), Seremet in the 50-yard freestyle (22.55) and Luke Giles (Fr. • Oswego, Ill.) in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:14.76).

Giles added top-five finishes in the 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard IM with times of 5:16.50 and 4:42.51.

Leo Ramirez-Gutierrez (Fr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) placed fourth with a 56.72-second mark in the 100-yard butterfly, joined by Alex Ward (Fr. • Yorkville, Ill.) and Drew Davis (Jr. • Bakersfield, Calif.) in the 100-yard versions of the backstroke and freestyle with times of 58.09 and 52.15 seconds, respectively.

The remaining two fourth-place finishes went to Chase Millam (Sr. • Stoughton) in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:56.01 and the 1,650-yard freestyle at 19:31.56.

Ward finished fifth in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:12.48.

The Titans return to action at St. Norbert College next Saturday (Nov. 18) for a 1 p.m. start.
