Titans Defeat Red Hawks in Season Finale

RIPON, Wis./CHICAGO—In the final regular season dual, the UW-Oshkosh Titans men's swimming and diving squads competed at Ripon College and at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Diving Invitational. The Titans defeated Ripon College, 129-66.

Ben Knoeck and Chase Millam competed in the 200 freestyle for the Titans, with times of 1:53.28 and 1:57.45.

Ethan Almstadt and Ethan DeGroot went 1-2 in the 1000 freestyle relay, timing in at 11:21.72 and 11:41.61. DeGroot recorded a season best time by 22 seconds. 

Millam, Knoeck, and Drew Davis went 1-2-3 in the 100 freestyle, led by Millam's season best time of 51.53. Knoeck clocked in at 51.66 while Davis swam a 51.94.

CJ Willert led all racers in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.45. Cade Millam swam a 1:08.26 in the same event. 

Damen Seremet led all swimmers in the 100 breaststroke with a season best time of 1:02.79. Cade Millam and Almstadt competed in the race, clocking in at 1:09.37 and 1:13.31. 

In the 200 medley relay, the Titan team of Willert, Seremet, Andrew Copeland, and Knoeck timed in at 1:41.02 for a first place finish and a season best time. Seremet, Chase Millam, Copeland, and Davis took home first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.74. 

Davis claimed second place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.00 while teammate CJ Willert claimed third with a time of 23.26. Willert's time was a new season best. 

Almstadt and Cade Millam raced in the 200 IM this afternoon, recording times of 2:14.44 and 2:20.34.

In the 500 freestyle, DeGroot finished in second with a time of 5:39.96. Freeman clocked in at 6:11.35 for third in the event. Both DeGroot and Freeman recorded season best times.

In the 100 butterfly, Copeland swam to a top-3 finish with a time of 58.36, a new season best time. Copeland was joined in the 100 butterfly by Hayden Freeman, who swam a 1:01.54.

At the UIC Invitational, Joey Jurva recorded a dive score of 181.25 on the 1-meter board, six dives. On the 3-meter diving board, Jurva had a dive score of 194.30 with six dives. 

Against Ripon on Friday evening, Jurva recorded a dive score of 223.35 on the 3-meter board, which was a season best. Jurva recorded a season best on the 1-meter board with a score of 208.80. 

The Titans are next in action for the WIAC Championships, February 15-18 in Brown Deer.
