Jurva Earns First Place Finish as Titans Compete at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis.—Joey Jurva claimed a first place finish and several Titans recorded season best times as the UW-Oshkosh Titans men's swimming and diving program finished action at the Carthage Classic.

Joey Jurva finished in first place in the 3-meter diving, recording a score of 362.60. Jurva took runner-up honors in the 1-meter boards with a score of 292.70.

Ben Knoeck and Damen Seremet earned top-15 finishes, while Drew Davis collected a top-20 finish for the Titans in the 200 freestyle. Knoeck led the way with a time of 1:50.83 as Seremet and Davis clocked in at 1:51.33 and 1:52.99 respectively. Knoeck and Davis recorded season best times in the race.

Seremet claimed a top-5 finish in the 100 freestyle, swimming a 48.18. Seremet was three seconds off of the school record as he broke his previous best time this season.

Coming off his record breaking performance on Friday evening, CJ Willert placed fifth in the 100 backstroke, breaking his season best time at 54.50. In the 200 backstroke, Willert clocked in at 2:01.39 for a sixth place finish and broke his previous best time this season. Willert was less than a second off from the school record in the 100 backstroke and two seconds off the school record in the 200 backstroke.

Cade Millam finished inside the top-20 in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:08.13 for the Titans and season best time.

Davis captured a top-20 finish in the 100 freestyle, swimming a 50.45. Knoeck competed in the 100 freestyle for the Titans, timing in at 51.67.

In the 200 medley relay, Willert, Millam, Hayden Freeman, Davis finished inside the top-15 with a time of 1:45.01.  In the 800 freestyle relay, Seremet, Davis, Willert, and Knoeck grabbed a top-8 finish at 7:28.93. Knoeck, Willert, Davis, and Seremet teamed up in the 400 freestyle relay, swimming a 3:17.64 and a season best time.

Freeman clocked in at 1:05.51 as the lone Titan to compete in the 100 butterfly. Freeman swam a 2:34.31 in the 200 butterfly for a season best time.

Millam was the lone Titan to compete in the 200 breaststroke, swimming a 2:31.24 for a season best time.

The Titans return to pool on January 7, 2023, as they host Lawrence University at 1 p.m. in Albee Hall.
