Titans Harvest Win Over Buccaneers

The UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team returned to the pool for the first time since Dec. 4 and the result was an 84-29 victory over Beloit College on Friday (Jan. 7) in Beloit.

UW-Oshkosh won six events, including the 50-yard freestyle where the Titans swept the top four finishes.

UW-Oshkosh's Chase Millam swam to a first-place time of 23.35 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle while Titans Drew Davis finished second at 24.21, Andrew Copeland third at 24.23 and Ben Knoeck fourth at 24.31.

Chase Millam also swam to a second-place time of 1:05.04 in the 100-yard breaststroke while helping Copeland, Davis and Knoeck register a first-place time of 1:35.24 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

UW-Oshkosh's Alex Jernberg earned a pair of first-place finishes by winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.15 and the 100-yard breaststroke with a performance of 1:04.53.

Also winning events for the Titans were Hayden Freeman and Matt Holst. Freeman won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.95 seconds while Holst won the 100-yard backstroke with a swim of 1:06.59.

UW-Oshkosh completed its second-place listings with the swims of 52.82 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle by Knoeck, 100.51 in the 100-yard butterfly by Copeland and 1:03.07 in the 100-yard individual medley by Cade Millam.

The Titans also had Davis finish third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.00 seconds and Cade Millam fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a result of 1:09.27.

UW-Oshkosh's home meet against Lawrence University on Saturday (Jan. 8) has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. The Titans are scheduled to compete at UW-Stevens Point next Friday (Jan. 14).
