Titans Beaten By Blugolds In Season Debut

The UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team opened its 2021-22 season with a 174-37 loss to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference colleague UW-Eau Claire Saturday (Oct. 16) in Eau Claire.

Alex Jernberg accounted for a pair of UW-Oshkosh's seven top-four finishes by placing second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.42 and fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11:13.56.

Titan Cody Else finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:43.89 while swimming with Andrew Copeland, Drew Davis, and Quill Graham for a second-place performance of 1:41.34 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

UW-Oshkosh's Conner Clark and Chase Millam contributed third-place swims of 55.56 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly and 1:06.75 in the 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.

Copeland added a fourth-place finish for the Titans with his time of 1:07.96 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

UW-Eau Claire dominated UW-Oshkosh by owning the winner in each of the contest's 13 events and totaling 34 of the competition's 41 top-four results.

UW-Oshkosh holds its annual Alumni Meet next Saturday (Oct. 23) in Albee Hall before receiving visits from Carroll University on Oct. 30 and UW-Whitewater on Nov. 6.
