Titans Start Men's Swimming & Diving Season In Eau Claire
The UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team begins its 2021-22 season Saturday (Oct. 16) at Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival UW-Eau Claire. The first splash is set for 1 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center pool.
Saturday's season opener is among 10 dual meets on this year's UW-Oshkosh schedule. The Titans will also compete at the WIAC Championship and invitationals hosted by Lawrence University, Carthage College and University of Illinois Chicago.
UW-Oshkosh will host six of its dual meets in Albee Hall – Oct. 20 against Carroll University, Nov. 6 against UW-Whitewater, Jan. 8 against Lawrence University, Jan. 15 against Carthage College, Jan. 22 against UW-La Crosse and Feb. 5 against Ripon College.
The Titans will also visit St. Norbert College on Nov. 20, Beloit College on Jan. 7 and UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 14 for dual meets.
UW-Oshkosh completes its schedule at the Lawrence University Invitational on Nov. 13, Carthage College Classic on Dec. 2-4 and the WIAC Championship on Feb. 16-19.
The WIAC Championship at the Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer while the NCAA Division III Championship will be conducted March 16-19 at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
UW-Stevens Point won its 21st consecutive WIAC title in 2020 with 964 points. UW-Eau Claire finished second to the Pointers with 807 points while UW-Whitewater placed third with 571, UW-La Crosse fourth with 407 and UW-Oshkosh fifth with 325.
Seventh-year UW-Oshkosh head coach Christopher Culp returns six of the 11 letterwinners from last year's team that competed in four dual meets, including three-non-scoring, against WIAC opponents. The WIAC and Division III championships for the 2020-21 campaign were canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Letterwinners returning for the Titans are seniors Cody Else, Matt Holst and Alex Jernberg; juniors Quill Graham and Robert Thomasberg, and sophomore Andrew Copeland.
